Also gaining in popularity for general family fun in recent years are rodeos. The Painted Pony Championship Rodeo event in Lake Luzerne, not far from Lake George village, takes place each Friday and Saturday night from July 4th through Labor Day. Fort Ticonderoga to the northern end of Lake George and Fort William Henry in Lake George village are two attractions that offer history and fun, with loud and colorful re-enactments of past military battles.
