The attractions of the Lake George, New York area are far too many to list. There is however one thing that can be said about these attractions, they’re big, they’re memorable and they’re diverse.
The Lac Du Saint Sacrament is the flagship of the Lake George Steamboat Company’s fleet, which also includes the smaller but charming Mohican and the Minne-Ha-Ha. These boats offer a variety of day, evening and dining cruises, including popular fireworks cruises and cocktail cruises complete with a jazz band and dancing under the stars. Shoreline Cruises offers The Horicon and several other cruise and charter boats.
In addition to boating and superior fishing, the lake also offers the thrills of parasailing, water skiing and swimming in some of the cleanest water in the nation.
On shore, spend a day at The Great Escape, a world class theme park with rides, slides, shows and family entertainment. The Great Escape is also home to the world famous Comet Roller Coaster, as well as several other exciting coasters and rides. Other family entertainment centers include Waterslide World, Magic Forest, numerous miniature golf courses, Skateland and much more.
Also gaining in popularity for general family fun in recent years are rodeos. The Painted Pony Championship Rodeo event in Lake Luzerne, not far from Lake George village, takes place each Friday and Saturday night from July 4th through Labor Day. Fort Ticonderoga to the northern end of Lake George and Fort William Henry in Lake George village are two attractions that offer history and fun, with loud and colorful re-enactments of past military battles.
